All City...

Well well well, I'm here in Chucktown and it is gorgeous. The house is gorgeous, the city is gorgeous, and I'm sure the beach is gorgeous as well although I haven't made it there yet. I don't want to make this long, but I would just like to say that I'm happy to be back in a city that breathes. By this I mean that Charleston has a soul, an identity, and a side to it that most people probably overlook when they come here. How do I know this you ask? Graffiti. Graffiti is proof of all these things. It exhibits the emotions of anyone fortunate enough to afford a can of spray paint. Some of it is good and some of it is bad, but it all serves its purpose. You don't need a PhD in art history to appreciate it. Its cyclical and essential to a city's life just like our own respiratory system is to ours. Its not permanent and it's not guaranteed, but at the same time it is always there. One day you might see a gigantic mural and the next it could be gone...something different in its place. How awesome is that? Oh, and it's fun to look at too! Enjoy the pictures! (Click to enlarge)
